Thema: In Uw hand – Psalm 31:6 en 16

Het stormt in deze psalm als op een zee, de golven jagen op en over elkaar, maar steeds weer steken zich onbeweeglijke rotsen uit het schuimen omhoog, rotsen van een diep vertrouwen waarop de golven geen vat hebben, want… de psalmist legt zijn leven in Gods hand.

In Zijn hand, – ook als het zwaarste op ons klemt, ook als het bitterste ons verteert, ook als het smadelijkst ons verguist, ook als het donkerste ons verstikt.

In Zijn hand, – waar anders zouden wij ons met lichaam en ziel bevelen? Jezus gaf, toen zijn lichaam brak, zijn geest in die handen van de Vader. Hij wist, in die handen was het leven dat door geen dood en graf bedreigd kan worden.

In Zijn hand, – wat een belijdenis voor wie het aandurft; wat een veiligheid voor wie het weet! Zó zeker, dat hij nooit beschaamd wordt in zijn vertrouwen, in eeuwigheid niet.

In Zijn hand, – de hoogste zekerheid
